Different roles in System 10: P1500 (λ₁₀ = 0.038 W/mK) and P2100 (λ₁₀ = 0.035 W/mK) are the 10 cm slabs of the main layer — P1500 in Basic/Medium/Premium, P2100 in the + versions. P800 is the complementary 5 cm layer, for the 15 and 25 cm thicknesses.

In System 10 you choose the Wolle thickness between 10 and 25 cm, per package. Thicknesses over 10 cm are made up of 10 cm and 5 cm slabs, up to the desired total thickness: 15 = 10+5, 20 = 10+10, 25 = 10+10+5 cm. On the packages page you can see, for each thickness, the R-value, the comparison with conventional insulation and the quantities for your area.

Yes — and without the protective equipment required by conventional insulation (mask, gloves, overalls): Wolle fibre does not irritate and does not release harmful particles, being the same PET fibre as in the warm duvets and blankets at home. The slabs are easy to cut, 1 cm wider than the cavity, and grip between the rafters. With any System 10 package you receive the dedicated Wolle K knife free of charge, 1 piece per order.

Wolle fibre is PET — one of the most stable materials known: the decomposition of PET in nature is estimated at 450–1000 years, and the main degradation factor is UV radiation, not moisture. Installed in the insulated cavity — with no UV and no direct exposure to the weather — the fibre does not rot and does not decompose, and with no settling, performance is maintained for practically the entire life of the building.
